Well, it's my birthday and my Internet is down. WHEEEEE!
It's a shame, too, as I had a couple of posts ready to go to mark the occasion.
Guess I'll have to take myself out shopping to dull this double blow.
Thanks for all the happy wishes. Y'all are just too kind. xoxo...

It was a good day. Well, it turned out to be a good day. It started off very mediocre as I spent most of the morning on the phone with the Internet People trying to rectify the immense problem that has arisen at the lake. My world wide web addiction is fierce.
But things got better. Now that there are seven different technologies to communicate with people, I had birthday wishes beeping and vibrating all around me. I got birthday'd by facebook, twitter, text, IM, email, snail mail, and voicemail. I felt very celebrated. So thank you.
I took a deep breath and purchased my first maternity garmet: a jean skirt these hot Carolina summers. They had maternity cut-off's, but I just couldn't bring myself to spend the money on them. I might go back, though. There is almost nothing funnier than jean cut-offs with a big 'ole maternity panel.
Then I continued to drive north to join my husband, who is shooting one of his 5,000 shows not too far away, for dinner. We had a nice evening just the two of us, planning on a more lively celebration next weekend when my bestfriendfromcollege Alyson makes her debut appearance at the lake.
The Gorilla spoiled me a surprise gift (we purchased what I believed to be my only gift a few months ago - an SLR camera that makes me excited to look at, but I'm still not so great at using), and I fell asleep another year older.
No more mopiness on the turning-30 thing. That was just a phase. I think.

Wait, what was the surprise gift???
I need to teach you how to use that camera.

Laura, I meant to write you last week. So, you can have your happy birthday now - late - or save it up and get two next year.
Thanks for the comment on my invite, I really appreciate it.
Also, Leeanne (my wife, who I can't remember for sure if you ever met when we were out in CA) loves your blog and thinks you two would be fast friends if we ever made it out west again.
Hope you are doing well!
Seely
