My Photo

from a one-stoplight town to a hollywood housewife

  • I am an Oklahoma girl somewhat misplaced in the City of Angels. I spent six years working in reality television, but my true passion is writing. I live in Hollywood with my new baby and my darling husband, who is nothing like you'd expect.

Each "thank you" resonated with me as a checklist of things I need to accomplish as a mom. I can only hope and pray my own daughter will think, if not say, something like this about me someday.

What a great Mother's Day gift.

    Hey Laura-

Ashley has been telling me to read your Blog...something told me to read it today and what you wrote to your Mom was so special, loving, from your heart...it teared me up. I hope (and I'm sure she does) she knows what a neat, special person she has in you...sounds like you have a great teacher to learn from for your sweet baby...know how lucky you are.

Donna has set forth an amazing model of motherhood for many of us whom she has mothered through the years. You are so fortunate to have such an incredible mother!

Thank you for such kind words. It's always surprising to see what your children remember as important. Take that to heart, young mothers. And Laura, you are the prettiest one (in your class, anyway). And smartest.

I'm sure your daughter will have a list like this for you one day, Laura.

    :)

    what are the peacoat papers?

    • Peacoat papers started out as the greeting cards I made, but I've shifted my focus towards writing. So now it's the writings that are the peacoat papers.
    • Why peacoat? I just like the sound of it.
    • I like crafty things. I write about faith, and relationships, and searching for home. Always, always, searching for home.
