This is the second night in a row I've scored a Panera Bread location with free wifi where I can pop in for a few moments on peacoat.
Last night's experience was none too pleasant. The internet was slower than molasses and I was grumpy from another stressful day. I did (purposefully) sit behind a group of college girls studying just so I could stare at this one girl's hair. She had the shiniest, sleekiest, most beautiful hair maybe I have ever seen in my life. I mean, shiny to the point that I chose my seat around it and then contemplated for a half hour (while waiting on page loads) whether or not to ask her the secret.
I chickened out.
Tonight I am happier, after a wonderful and momentous day, and this location is practically empty so my computer is whizzing right along. Plus I have a bowl of french onion soup and a cup of sweet tea beside me.
All is right in my world tonight. Tomorrow morning I'm headed to Nashville, and I'm so excited for quality girl time with a friend I've missed so dearly since she moved from Los Angeles last summer.
I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday madness. On my long drive tomorrow, I will be blasting my all time favorite Christmas tunes:
Number 1 (of all time, no exceptions): Mariah Careys "All I Want for Christmas is You." If this song doesn't make you smile, well, then you don't know how to properly celebrate the birth of Jesus.
Number 2: The Waitresses' "Christmas Wrapping" stays in my head the whole month of December.
Number 3: Elvis Presley's "Blue Christmas" has been a favorite for years. Wouldn't be the holidays without it.
Here's a version of Mariah's classic as seen in the great Christmas movie Love Actually. This is cute and all, and I really liked that movie, but nothing can compare to Ms. Mariah herself.

You are so funny! I have to say that I agree with you about Mariah's Christmas song, it's the one I love to sing along to in the car during this time of year. (Even if my kids look at me like I am totally crazy!)

FFTK&T (fun fact to know and tell): the little girl in Love Actually was really singing the song. The director at first wanted her to lip sync since everyone would already assume she was, but the little girl held out and sang it live. I like that. It makes the scene that much cooler.
